Adam Waldmann is an award-winning saxophonist, composer and bandleader. It was with the self-released, 2010 debut album Kairos Moment that Adam started make waves as a leader with his band Kairos 4tet. Kairos Moment was met with considerable critical acclaim and the band picked up rave reviews for both their debut album and live shows, not to mention extensive radio play throughout Europe and worldwide. This led to Waldmann being described as “a powerful new voice in British Jazz” by the BBC, “a young master in the making” by Time Out and a “precociously talented composer and player” by All About Jazz.
With comparisons to some of his musical idols including Wayne Shorter, Charles Lloyd and former teacher Julian Arguelles, Waldmann’s unique voice and approach on his instrument make him “one of the most distinctive saxophonists in the UK” according to the Manchester Evening News. Adam’s group Kairos 4tet won the MOBO Award for ‘Best Jazz Act’ for their album Statement of Intent and it also made it to No. 2 in MOJO magazine’s ‘Albums of the Year’ and No. 14 in Jazzwise’s ‘Albums of the Year’.
