The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents a Musical Celebration of Qatar UK Year of Culture 2013 with English favourites by Vaughan Williams and Elgar. The concert also features world premieres by the distinguished Qatari film composer Wael Binali and renowned British composer David Heath, both commissions dedicated to Qatar UK Year of Culture 2013.

Barry Wordsworth conducts special guests: the talented British violinist Chloë Hanslip plays The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams and international pianist Amira Fouad performs David Heath’s exciting piano concerto El Hedeiya, with Gary Kettel on percussion. The Royal College of Music Vigala Singers sing Handel’s majestic Zadok the Priest.

6.30pm – 7pm: Pre-concert talk. Free to ticket holders.
