This exciting programme opens with Enescu’s pastoral Romanian Rhapsody No. 1, followed by Grieg’s immortal and ever-popular Piano Concerto, performed by outstanding pianist Alexandra Dariescu, who will remain onstage to celebrate Lipatti’s Centenary in a performance of his graceful Concertino in Classical Style.
The concert will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s dramatic Francesca da Rimini, which illustrates the tragic tale of Francesca, the beauty who appeared in Dante’s Divine Comedy.
This concert is kindly supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute.
