- Symphony No. 41 (Jupiter)
- Gabriel Bebeselea
- Alexandru Tomescu
Nicknamed the ‘Jupiter’, Mozart’s final symphony is a true 18th-century tour de force and widely regarded as the zenith of the Classical period. Gabriel Bebeselea conducts a programme of musical variety, which culminates with the sublime tapestry of Mozart’s dazzling Symphony No. 41.
Renowned violinist Alexandru Tomescu is the soloist for two sumptuous works, beginning with Saint-Saëns’ glittering Third Violin Concerto and moving on to explore the ethereal sound-world of Porumbescu’s Ballade for Violin and Orchestra. Enescu’s spirited Suite No. 2 opens the concert with vigorous energy.
