Theo Jackson Trio

Out to Lunch 2014

Venue: Culford Room at Cadogan Hall

Theo Jackson
Alex Davis
double bass
Shane Forbes

Inspired by composers and songwriters from Duke Ellington and John Coltrane through to Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder, Theo Jackson’s songs can feature anything from a pathological womaniser to a tortoise.

Together with award-winning saxophonist Nathaniel Facey, he has made sold-out appearances at Oxford Jazz Festival and Cheltenham Jazz Festival and made his first 10-date UK tour in 2013.

He has recently signed a one-off publishing deal with Concord Music Group for his original lyrics to be set to Scott Lafaro’s ‘Gloria’s Step’.

Theo is equally at home delivering the emotional lines of a ballad as he is improvising vocals to complement the melodic lines of his instrumentalists. An engaging and charismatic live artist, Theo appears regularly in London at the 606 Jazz Club.

‘ One of the most interesting jazz vocalists and composers to emerge on the British scene in recent years, Jackson can flit between ballads and rapid-fire scatting in the blink of an eye.’ (The Telegraph)

‘One of Britain’s finest jazz musicians and singers.’ (Michael Wilson, Jazz FM)
